Change is hard. Being a leader is hard. Leading through change seems impossible. The systematic process of change management can be a tool to guide new and rising pharmacy leaders through challenging transitions. This session will review what change management is, why it should be used, and how to overcome barriers.

Sleepy girl mocktail? You put yogurt where? Since the COVID-19 pandemic, social media has been a playground for the rampant spread of medical misinformation. Pharmacists have been trained to look for accurate information for their patients, but how do you communicate to a patient that what they have seen as they were scrolling through TikTok is not true? This session will discuss important tools to walk the line of educating your patients in a professional, non-confrontational manner in person and even on social media.

The continuing pharmacy education activity is supported by an Independent Educational Grant from Kenvue.

Accreditation

APhA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

CPE Monitor

CPE Monitor is a collaborative system used by ACPE, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), and ACPE-accredited providers for all pharmacists, student pharmacists and technicians to record and track their CPE credits. Contact NABP customer support at 847-391-4406, Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm CT for additional information.

Target Audience

Day of NP LIFE education sessions were designed for pharmacists from all practice settings. Courses appropriate for pharmacist participation are designated by an ACPE universal activity number ending in the letter "P”.

Learning Level

CPE offered at Day of NP LIFE is: Level 1 - Baseline knowledge of the subject area is required. The information presented will be a primer on the topic and appropriate for a wide range of pharmacists.

Activity Type

CPE offered at Day of NP LIFE is: Knowledge-based activities – designed to enhance or add to pharmacists’ knowledge of a topic, mostly through didactic sessions.

State Requirements

Check with the Board of Pharmacy in your state regarding specific continuing pharmacy education requirements. Florida-licensed pharmacists: To ensure that your continuing pharmacy education participation can be filed with the state-mandated CE Broker system, make sure you have provided APhA with your Florida license number. To check, log on to https://www.pharmacist.com/ and select My Account, then License Information.

Partial Credit Policy

APhA does not offer partial credit for any CPE activity.

Grievance Policy

Should any attendee of an approved CPE session be dissatisfied with the quality of the activity, contact the APhA Education Department at education@aphanet.org within 5 days of the conclusion of the session.

Claim Your Credit

To obtain Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) credit, you are required to actively participate in the entire session, submit the corresponding attendance code, complete session evaluation, and claim credit using the online CPE submission site. Ensure your NABP e-Profile ID and Birth Month and Day (MMDD) are updated in the APhA system.

  1. Input your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth (MMDD) if missing
  2. Check “Yes, I have read the APhA’s CPE Monitor Policies and Procedures”
  3. Click “Submit”

For each session, follow the steps below to claim CPE credit.

  1. Login to your APhA Learning Library.
  2. Click on the Course Package “Day of NP LIFE– 2024”
  3. Locate the session in the list and click ”open”
  4. Click ”Start Learning Now”.
  5. Click “Start Assessment”
  6. Enter the session’s attendance code and click ”Submit Assessment”.
  7. Click “Next Activity”.
  8. Click the “Begin the Survey” button under the “APhA Education Evaluation” header.
  9. Complete the evaluation form and click the “Submit Survey” at the bottom of the screen.
  10. Repeat these instructions for each session. You must file your CPE credit at pharmacist.com by Wednesday, December 25, 2024, 5:00 PM ET.
